This is a straight up easy case. But not one that an attorney is needed. It's a small claims issue. You tell the judge what happened. Get a written estimate to replace the exact mattress model or comparable that was ruined from preferably 3 different stores. Make sure the estimate states that the replacement is comparable to the original. File a small claims suit for the lowest estimate (the judge will decide based on the lower estimate and also will be assured you are not trying to take advantage of the situation). Also give him the document from the manager that they would replace it. It's nothing to get upset over. It's actually an easy case since you have written proof that they accepted liability. Give the judge a very brief explaination of what happened. I warn you though, where most people get into trouble is volunteering more info than is asked. Only answer the questions that are asked of you. JHMO

    Good news today!!
The claims investigator on my case has sent me a document to sign that says I will be fully reimbursed for the mattress.
After a few firm emails from me to him.
Looks like everything is getting taken care of. Whew.
