I'm building a sump with an extra 10 gallon tank and wondered what everyone would recommend doing. I would like to add a fuge but with the limited space I don't think it is going to happen.

I am going to be putting a SWC 120 skimmer in the first chamber with the tank overflow. This will take up most of the space. Which will leave me with about half the tank for the return and fuge.

Could I run the Mag7 externally using a box type overflow? I'm not going to get a 20 gallon long because I am using tv stand and will only hold a 10 gallon tank for a sump. So I am in need of ideas and suggestions.

I would just skip the fuge. It's going to take up too much space leaving your return to small. Evaporation will add up fast and you will have to top off very often.

Maybe I will do a HOB fuge of some sort off the DT. But would like to keep as little off the DT as possible. Are there any advantages of a skimmer and fuge in the sump?
