I have a frag of Bubble Coral, growing good, etc..
About 1/4 the size of my fist..Had it 2 or 3 months..
Camera want take good pictures of my tank..
It seems to have one bigger mouth, and two smaller ones..
I guess thats what I'm seeing..
Do these things split..? Or can it just have more then one mouth.?
How big can they get with good feeding.? Cut shrimp, etc..

    Thanks, Larry

Hey Larry. I don't think they split. I think they just develop new heads like frogspawns, hammers and torches. They sure are beautiful corals, though.

I don't think they split either and I have really heard of a frag of a bubble. You can frag them, but it is very difficult and it's unlikely the frag will survive. To frag it, you basically have to break the skeleton off with a saw or chisel. You may have just gotten a smaller one.

Yeah I got it and th eLFS told me they split but Advanced Aqua...tells different they can be fragged but your right it is a chore Yeah it has a skeleton but rarely opens even in the cave...I think it sat out in the light for to long...it would go under a rock and after a day or two I would check it and move it out to see if it was alive and I guess I burnt the lil guy up...He is partialy open now in his lil cave...I hope he makes it...Now as usual I have weird problems...they call me bad luck...I am off to the Algae department so follow and help me out....

As you can see, I keep my bubble at the top under my T5's. My frag is from Vivid Aquarium and you can see (not in this pic though) that they cut it with a saw of some sort down into the rock it is on. The rock is actually a cut out wedge of a bigger rock. Made it difficult to place though.

Anyway, mine loves all the light. I feed it a piece of raw sea animal once a month and it's been getting bigger.

In the past couple of weeks I have noticed it's normally long mouth is now like one long mouth, then a small closed section and then a smaller mouth - it almost appears like how you would picture a split. I think it's just something they do. But no, they don't split, they just grow.

    Thanks for the info..
And yes this was a frag.. Cut with a saw.. I don't know how it lived..
For the first few weeks it was touch and go...
It came in as a freeb.. Nothing but a skeleton .. So I thought ot was a nice looking piece of dry coral.. After a week or so I noticed it had little bubbles, and skin started covering the skeleton .. Not it's beautiful, growing good, and loves to eat..

    Thanks for the info..

Danny, you said yours would go under a rock..??

Mine doesn't move at all..? Same spot for 2 months..??
If yours is moveing, looking for a better spot, etc..
I still think you have a Bubble Anemone .. They do split... I think..
My Bubble Coral is right on the bottom, I have 60 gal homemade tank .
With 476 watts of PC, T5 HO combo.. And the lights don't bother it..
    And mine can not move..??

Is yours moveing, by it's self..??

Bubble coral is not able to move on its own.
