OK, I have a bulb tip anemone and it has survived for over a year in my tank so obviously I am doing something right. I feed it a little piece of silverside bout once a month and my ocellarus clown (don't know if spelling correct) takes care of the rest along with lighting.

When I purchased this guy he was apx. 2" in diameter and had some real fat green bubble tips. After acclimation, the bubbles lasted about a month but seemed to be getting less and less as time went on.

So for the past lets say 8 months, it has grown to about 6" diameter but the bubbles have never come back (only can see little bubbles sometimes when excreting waste) and the color has gone from a real attractive green to a redish brown (again green seems to come back when excreting but not like when I first got it).

Now my question is does anyone have any clue if the bubbles/color will ever come back or am I stuck with a not so attractive amenome?? Now I know this has been covered before but I am wondering if anyone has any new information on this. Thanks ;)

I would like to see the responses to this, I have a BTA that gets bubbly but the tips don't look like the standard bubble tip pics... Actually when I bought it 6 mos ago it didn't have the "standard" tips either. (Mine has stayed a nice color though.) I've been wondering if mine was some other type of BTA that doesn't look the same as the standard?

I tried that a few months ago thinking I was starving the little guy BUT every time I fed it like that it would basically spit the food out 1/2 digested and look worse than before I fed it so I stopped and let the clown supplement it most of the time now.

the reason i beleive it happens is that when their tips are inflated they are filtering the water for the nutrients they need, either A: we dont have it, or B: they dont need it due to the feedings and lighting in the tanks
