It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Last I checked or researched approximately a year ago. There is no effective treatment unfortunately. Once they start to develop the sloughing of the skin it's pretty much a done deal.

One of the best fish in the hobby but a real gamble unless you get a very healthy specimen and that can be difficult to tell.

He chose a a real shallow spot in my sand bed to build his den can this be normal. If and when I get another one or another jaw fish if he passes to fish heaven. Is there another one I can look at or should do for a deeper sand bed. It kinda just move around and gets thin there

There is quite a lot of information regarding designing burrows for them, sand size and sand depth on the net.

I had a 3 inch sand bed and that was sufficient and did not make pvc burrow.

The rubble was a big thing for my BJF, he loved his rubble.

Not sure what your sand size is? They may not make a deep burrow but it's a significant burrow.

He seems to be doing better allot more active again. Can't tell if color is coming back yet or not it looks like it is. He has made his burrow about twice the size it was since he got sick. I don't think he is safe yet but I got my fingers crossed. I will try for a picture tomorrow he is very camera shy.

Good news that he is more active anyways. Surprised to hear he is camera shy! Mine is a camera hog ;) Also, what do you feed him?
