Skimmer is going well. I don't run a refugium but I do have a skimmer going.
I know people go skimmerless but I'm not really a fan of that. If you do go skimmnerless you will get a lot of particles floating in the water. I don't really like that look . I like the crystal clear water look.

I got a question...I just got the dual chamber reactor from BRS....they say to use a MJ1200...

Does anybody have this? Is the MJ1200 enough power to run both filters?

The MJ is 300 gph. I got the 900 for my single. Honestly the single barely cuts it. I have a quiet one pump that puts out 300 gph. when I ran GFO and carbon in my single, it's just barely enough.

The 1200 is good, don't worry. It's really a matte rof how big your tank is and how much media you have to put in and how much the pump has to push through. The GFO tumbles, but the carbon gets clogged up and reduces flow.

More than enough. You will probably have to throttle it back a bit.

With respect to the pump, I have a 1000GPH return pump that I have routed to a 5 valve manifold of 1/2" PVC ball valves. I had 2 lines going back to the display tank and 3 spares. I used one of the spares to feed the GFO/GAC Reactor. I just partially opened it until the GFO had a slight boil to it. I figured that was the right flow. Enough to keep it moving and not stick together, but not so much that it would grind itself to power. For the GAC, I pushed the foam all the up to keep it from tumbling at all per Powerman's advice.

    Sound right??

YEAH ME!!! I am learning!! Sounds funny, but I am an expert in my field. I am really enjoying the heck out of NOT being an expert and just learning and tinking and figuring it out.

    Thanks
