I wouldn't do that. If he is having a problem keeping the pellets tumbling and they start to form Hydrogen Sulfide it could still cause an issue for his tank and reactor.

ok, I have 20 minutes before I leave. I will take it offline. saw the mod and started it before realizing I didn;t have any mesh =-(. this is what I get for a late delivery and trying to rush an install. Thanks Vinny!

p.s. which pump do you use?

The Cobalt MJ1200 seems to work perfectly. My reactor is at the same level as my sump. If there is over 6" of head height you will need to go larger as this particular pump does not do too well with head pressure.Good luck!!;D

Ok, so I am back from vacation and have it online and tumbling. A few of the pellets seem to stick to the top so I am going to get some mesh and do the "ol Vinny Mod".

Everything survived my trip but now I have more algae in my other tank. Water changes here I come!

Good luck Tom. Mine is still doing very well. The pellets will sometimes float to the top at first so gently shake the reactor or turn the pump off for a minute and they will sink. This only happens when you first start them.Let us know how it turns out.;)
