I noticed today, that I am starting to get some brown spots on the glass of the fuge part of the sump and on the drains in that section. There is also a little bit of green on a piece of the rubble in the fuge and there is a type of algae growing on the plumbing. I know you will want pics, so I will post them shortly. I should add that there is none of this in the DT. Thanx.

    How old is tank?

    RO/DI water only?

Have you checked your phosphate and nitrates levels?

Lighting type and length of photoperiod?

How old is tank? about 3 months total, 1 month with fish

RO/DI water only? No, I haven't gotten a RO/DI unit yet. I use Dr. Tim's Aquacleanse and let it set overnight before I use it to top off.

Have you checked your phosphate and nitrates levels? Haven't checked phosphates, but I do have a bag of PhosBan between sump baffles, nitrates stay between 10-20ppm.

Lighting type and length of photoperiod? I have 2 of each of these
Blue and White. The blue comes on from 5-7am then again from 5pm-midnight and whites from 3-1030pm. I have a fuge light, it's just a regular old shop light from Home Depot. It runs from 11pm-5am.
