    Hey everyone -

I'm going to start setting up a breeder tank for my clowns, and have an old strip light lying around that I could use. The light is such that the switch to turn it on/off is on the power cord, and I know for a fact that the switch is broken. Any ideas on how to fix the switch? Could I just cut the switch out and wire it back together? I plan on hooking this light to a timer anyhow, so if there is no on/off function it really isn't a big deal. I really don't know much concerning electricity, excuse my ignorance!

You could either cut the switch out, or put a new one in....any good with electrical???

Well I haven't had much experience with electrical stuff per se, but I'm a fairly competent person...;D

How would I go about cutting the switch out? Or, for that matter, replacing it? If I can get a cheap switch at a hardware store that might be an option as well. But to re-iterate, I would just like the light to work. I'll have it on a timer so on/off really isn't necessary.

Switch should only cost a few dollars, at the depot, or lowes, or to just cut it out, a few wire nuts and electrical tape.
