breaking them up

OK i got a pc that was given to me by the lfs when i got it I was told that one day it would all run together,Ive been reading around to day and as I sit here with razor blade in hand I said let me see what the masters think so my question is the rock has 2 mushrooms,a toadstool,xenia,and a cluster of button pol,its all stinging each other should i try to take it apart or any suggestions.

They probably aren't "stinging" each other, lps generally do that, soft corals though do release chemicals in order to gain enough room to grow, so that is what is probably happening. Luckily, all of those corals are easily fragable (did I make that up?). The mushroom you can either cut in half making sure you have half of the mouth on the frag or just cut them off the base. The Xenia and leather you can just cut a piece off and it will grow into a new coral and the button polyps can just be cut of by the base and super glued onto a new rock. Good luck with them.

OK I got a pic of it i guess i just nervous about cutting it up because it seems to be doing good the way it is let me know what ya think i checked out the u tube vid on fraging some of these so I got a pretty good idea on how to do to it I just dont want to kill any of it unless it will help it all do even better..

 

If I do decide to try to frag it where in the main tank will it heal the best as i dont have a frag tank to put them in?
