Haha I have no idea. Maybe you could buy a new stand? There are some that aren't too expensive. Or you could find one on sale?

If you're worried about it, I wouldn't trust a super heavy tank on it.

I would be weary of it. If decking screws are known to sheer from the weight of tanks I would think staples would be even more likely to. Those staples seem from your picture to be the only load bearing part at the top. 800 to 1000 pounds of water and rock on top of that could equal disaster.

im gunna try to call em tomm or something to see if they can swap it out.
its a very nice looking stand but i just cant risk 90g of water on my floor.
i want to see how they explain how it will hold that much weight!?!

I would add support everywhere you can on the inside and glue and screw the heck out of it....then it will be solid to hold the tank.

I always add extra support to the stands, just cut wood to the exact lenght on all four corners for added leg support...and anywhere else you want to!

so i called them, they said that most of the stands are built like that.
    glued and stapled.
i am going to go up there and look at one and see if its the same but i am very worried about all of this

OK so i went up to the store. they had the same stand with a 90 on it. i started asking questions and the girl couldnt really tell me why it holds all the weight but she said shes been working there 9 years and sold the stand hundreds of times without a complaint.
i really wasnt satisfied with that answer so i just kinda walked away.
then i go in the back area with coral and fish and notice that half of the tanks back there are the same stand. i know these tanks have been full for years and years.
i guess i really dont have anything to worry about.
but i still dont really get how it hold the weight
and they arent staples. there air nails. they look like staples to me though

If there's other tanks on the stands, I wouldn't worry too much. I might glue it some more myself, or brace it with some extra wood, but that would just be to satisfy me.

Also, my tank doesn't "notch in" to the stand. It lays on top of a very thick (1") slab of wood. It's easier to clean the drips of salt that get in the crevice of the bottom molding like that :)

the stands are actually engineered to get stronger with the added weight of the tank and water. that being said, I still don't trust them and always build my own.

There has to be wood to wood support some where with the nails just keeping the wood pieces together. I cant see how just nails doing all the load baring would work.
