I waited 13 years before ever having the guts to bring one home. Ever since I got into this hobby there have always been fish "I would have someday". Mandarin dragonette being one of them. I waited til' I was absolutely sure one could be kept in my system. You are the only one that knows whether your tank is sufficient or not. Including your six-line;). Ask yourself this, would you buy it if it was $100.00 confidently? That's assuming 100bucks is spendy for you. One of those other fish I have always wanted is a harlequin sweetlips. Pretty sure I won't be owning one of those anytime soon. Good luck with your decision. And if you need any help, let me know....

ok so i got a Synchiropus splendidus female(the red/blue color )nice and fat no sunken belly no signs of starvation down the sides, very active. i got the female cause they typically stay smaller. and yeah this one also came from a coral tank.

what size tank do you keep yours in mission? and what size fuge?
sry for all the questions! and does yours have any competition for food?

i just looked in my fuge and im loaded with copepods,& amphipods, and ill proly add a bag of pods just to boost the population up again.

ive done cultures befor so if i have to do it again i will.

and too answer your question i would pay 100$ and that is alot of money to me. i think they should be more expensive to get people away from buying them! i really do think that i can do it. i swear im not one just to by a fish because it looks cool. ive thought about it since a bought my scooter pair, and now that there gone(the female scooter is going to live with a male in someone elses tank) i figured one mandarin proly consumes about as much pods as 2 scooters.

there's some cool youtube video's of them eating all sorts of stuff, cool one was a mandarin taking raw shrimp away from a baby trigger fish. ill proly experiment with everything and see if she will take any supplemental foods.

ok so i got my first shots of the mandarin. he has settled in nicely, my sixline on the other hand is pissed. he is letting everyone in the tank no he is boss! hopefully it passes....

he dont seem to get spooked easily,(not to scared of humans) this is good start.. so i tried some cyclops and he was def interested but still cautious, ill keep tryin this and other foods he will come around once he sees it a few times.

so ill post one of the mandarin pics here and the rest are going into my PHISH PICS Thread under my sig. so check there also..you will also be able to see the type of tank he will be spending his days in...

he is so beautiful he broke my camera for real , the buttons on my canon jusst stopped working.. damn...so these could be the last pics i take for a while.
