    hi guys i just had a quick question can you have these two fishes in a tank without any problems? i know you cant have a yellow and a purple tang, but can the blue hippo get along with the purple tang? now i know i have a 40 breeder but dont worry, im moving in 2 months and i am already building a 100 gal in side wall tank!

    I've been told that ones with similar body types dont get along. The hippo and the purple tang are definitely different body styles so should be ok by that rule.

    Keep in mind I dont have any tangs now but have a long time ago.

    i have seen it work before my friend had them in a tank, but keep in mind just because if works for him doesnt mean it will for you. fish are individuals and in different situations in every tank

    That saying my LFS has a large purple and a large yellow in their reef system and been together for years but if it works for them it might not work for you.
