Ive been told by several people that bleaching micron socks is ok as long as the bleach evaporates.

I soak them in a 10 to 1 ration bleach solution.

I rinse them well and allow them to dry for a week before using them.

I sniff them and they smell like bleach I rinse one last time before I use them.

Can the risidual bleach harm the tank ?

Your cleaning regime seems fine to me. I too used to worry about the smell still being present but never noticed any ill effects when cleaning as you are. I was still a little nervous so I used to add a little dechlorinator to the water when I was rinsing them.;)

You should be fine, but I agree, declorinator is a good safety measure to throw in there when in doubt.

I used to use the bleach to, but I found just washing them inside out in the washer with using just hot water does the trick and they seem to come just as clean..but I always do an extra rinse..

not sure you want to do this on your home washing machine (depending on your spouse reactions) but at the store we throw our sock in a wash machine (no detergent) and just use bleach and do another extra rinse on it!
