mantis seems like it would be neat to watch but the pistol and goby seems like it would be more fun to build

Hope I'm not over influencing you ;D as you can see, i'm a huge fan of mantiids.

plus, how many people have mantiids? a lot less than goby/shrimp pairs.

nah, I'm kinda leaning that way or the goby/shrimp way anyways, just need to find a cool one somewhere, LA has a few, but out of stock as are most places

Cherrys are $1 each in AUS. I put 30 in one of my fresh water tanks and they quickly became food for my golden gouramis. However, when I last cleaned out the cannister filter, I found 10 hanging in the bottom ALIVE!!!! They seem to be going up there for protection I think. I hadn't changed the media in it for at least 6 months before I found them. So it must be good conditions down there!.

How much would Cherry Shrimp be for you? At one LFS they were selling them for $5 each, but I found a breeder that sells them for $1 each.

yeah, but I'm afraid the melanarus may have the shrimp for dinner. The planted tank isn't out yet, I really do like the thought of a school of tetras in there. How many tetras could you put it in a 5G?
