LOL, I suppose I could mention some of the dwarf fish for the planted tank.

lol, were those shrimp a special species or just great camera work. But if I go that route I think I'd like odd inverts and amphibians, etc primarily and a few fish.

The shrimp are a bred species from the Neocaridina genus.

and those are easily obtainable? Ghost shrimp are ok, and cherries are cool but pricey for their size

The bred ones tend to be pretty pricey. You would do best joining a forum like The Planted Tank. They have quite a few folks selling shrimp. Some are breeders some are folks thinning their herds and some are making it into a business.

Thankya, sir. You could do some cool corals in there.

I voted for the maxi-mini pico. But my second choice would be a FW planted. If you went this route I would go with micro-sword or a moss-grass for the bottom. Then just have cherry shrimp and no fish. Add some rock.
