My new misbar clown seems to have gotten two little black spots.. I know I have read about them appearing when the nems sting them or something like that but I dont really remember, I just wanna make sure that its not black ick or anything. They weren't there before.. I dont have a nem in my tank.. sooo yea. any input would be great :)

I wouldn't worry unless it spreads.

I think the spots are cool, I just don't know why they appeared, can fish just develop new spots just as part of their coloring? I know there are instances where fish change colors and stuff.

the clowns are still juvenile right? I had a couple of random black spots appear on one of my clowns too when they were that small. It disappeared as all their colors came in. Could be miscoloration. Black ich is much smaller like black sand was sprinkled on the fish. Just keep an eye on it.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The black spots are called hypermelanization, usually from being stung by a coral, commonly seen with clowns being hosted by euphyllias such as torch, frog spawn and hammer. Can also come from some mushrooms. Usually harmless, self limiting.
