So I was doing my routine (so I thought) Waterchange this evening/morning and I added some rock yesterday and things have been moved around a little bit and well I was scraping the overflow box and I knocked a flag loose and so happened it fell behind the main rock structure. In the back right in the middle. So I got a little excited, stood on my fireplace base and tried to look over down in the tank. The back of my head hit the mantle which pushed my face right into my DIY light hanger. (2x4). Right under my left eye. Instantly swelled up an turned blue. How awesome is that. I know I've heard worse happen on this site but thought I'd share that dumb experience.

Good news: I was able to get the frag with little rescapping needed.

    Lessons learned: SLOW DOWN Will!

I'd be rofl if it was someone else. But it's me so I'm just going to say it was dumb.

Glad to hear all is relatively well and that was all the damage done.

    Sorry on the black eye.

Don't give your wife any ideas by saying she did it.

People don't realize how dangerous this hobby can be! Lol. I wear a hard hat and safety goggles when I do my water changes, ROFL. Seriously though, glad all is well.

The lengths we'll go to do what we need to with our tanks. I'm sure we've all been in very precarious positions while reaching for that coral or trying to tweak something that's waayyyyyy in the back. I think I've been way too lucky a couple of times, where one slip could have ended in total disaster.::)

Thanks for sharing DD! I did laugh (just a little) at your description :)

Boy you have really thought this story through. Now just as long as you can get your significant other to play along, you will be ok.
