Reef safe? Some sources say that this butterfly is reef safe and some say no. If anyone has an idea for a reef safe butterfly that could fit in a 90 I would be glad for the input.

Butterfly fish aren't reef safe in general. IMO

I have seen various sites that list them as both reefg safe and not. But the one thing I do know about them is that they get BIG. I dont know if you could keep one very well permanantly in a 90.

Will butterflies nip at both hard and soft coral?

They pretty much eat everything cool in the tank. It really varies from species to species. Some eat both, all, sps, soft, everything and, some don't eat at all. Prone to parasites. I don't care for them all too much. Unless, I had a FOWLR.

I'm focused on the two species that i've heard reef safe reports of, the Black and White Heniochus, and the Copperband butterfly. Anyone have personal experience with these two?

Hmmmmm. I wouldn't chance it. No experience with them here, but I searched and searched database after database to see if it was a possibility. I really like the looks of the butterflies, but IMO it's just not worth the risk.
