I just recently removed my hydor flow rotating head because i think it really reduces the amount of flow. I was wondering if i should put back on the original head (that you can adjust like a ball and socket joint) or just leave it off?

I would put the original head back on, since you can adjust it.

I really liked the rotating head when I had it. Then I switched to the sureflow mod and I have my MJ-1200 pushing water just like a coralia 5 or 6 maybe more... and it has the smaller propeller!

I think you should leave the rotating head rather than the little flap to direct the flow. Chaotic flow works very well IMO.
If you think you're not getting enough flow and the rotating head spins veeeeeery slooooooooowly it is more than likely a weak MJ pump. If you put that rotating head on an MJ-400 or 600 it will rotate slowly and give the appearance of slow flow, but when you put it on a mj-900 or 1200 it works pretty nice.

Of course, I think it still works well on the lower powered Maxi Jets and if it restricts the flow it won't be by much IMO.

In fact, I've been even thinking of putting that one in and get rid of the sure flow for a bit. I think I have too much flow in the 55 with the koralia 4 and the mj-1200 with sureflow mod.
