Biocube modifications?(New question)

    I removed the skimmer from mine.

    Currently, I'm building a stand for my BC14 which will have a 10g sump/ fuge, and a 10g hospital tank underneath. I'm going to drill either the first or second compartment to use as an overflow. I'm hoping the sump will also cool the tank because it gets to 82dF. in that tank. I think this is better than messing with what BioCube gives you.

    It probably is. I thought it was a solid tank at first but now that I am no longer what I would consider to be a beginner it just doesnt cut it.

    Yeah, I know what you mean. My dad's friend gave me my BioCube, and I gutted the thing when I first got it. My dad was like, "What are you taking that out for?!", and I was like, "It doesn't even do anything". lol

    I've heard from a few others that the Oceanic air stone skimmers were junk. I don't have any personal experience with them though. Tunze and ReefOctopus skimmers have been recommended to me (they're both a bit more pricey though).
