Which filter is it in? I was told to remove mine bc its a nitrate factory. I'm not telling you to do this but just what I've been told.

It is a Marineland Penguin 200... I was surprised the thing came with absolutely NO literature other than what is printed on the box, which wasn't much. My concern exactly about nitrates... it just doesn't seem right, but I don't claim to be an expert. I don't have a sump or any other form of natural filtration other than live rock.

That's not correct. Like sostoudt stated, don't replace it unless it's broken.

I would take it off completely and just use the filter to run carbon or what ever else it is you run in the media.

The only maintenance a biowheel needs is a cleaning of the bearings occasionally, or replacement if it totally breaks, as stated before.

Thanks all... Since I have you here, I hate to start another noob thread.. haha.

Powerhead v. Bubbler I have a 37g FOWLR. I notice that my Picasso trigger is 'yawning' for lack of a better term. Folks at the LFS say a bubbler or Powerhead to get the O2 levels up. Makes since to me...

However, it's the only fish in my tank that seems to have a "yawning" issue. Is this something I should invest in?

Well, how much surface agitation do you have?
