I bought some Poly-Bio-Filter pads and they seem to work well. I need to get more for my reef sump but can't remeber the website I got them from. Anyone have a good site they get these pads from?

Biggest rip off going . They will do what they say in absorbing metals But why waste you money just get some Kents Copper Safe and a fine mesh filter bag and then stuff will last longer and do a far better job and it can be regenerated when needed I have ran a 250 Gram in a 180 for over 7 yrs and it never changed off enough color to need to be regenerated yet . Where as the Poly pad last a few weeks or month as it clog's up. Poly Bio Marine Inc. makes the product

How is Kent's copper safe relevant to the original poster's request for purchasing source of poly pads? Hlobell never said anything about trying to remove copper.

To each his own. I'm not looking to remove heavy metals or anything else along thoes lines. I have reactors for that and my RO/DI. I just like how they keep my water super shinny and they are cheap.. PLus it captures small stuff like food and ohter floating crap from getting into the biological part of my sump.. And yes the clog in about 3 weeks but I only need a 4"x4" so a big pad last me a long time..

Metals enter system all the time through reactor medias and supplements and additives from Kalk to iodine and strontium and Ca reactor medias , That all happens after the water passes the RO D/I If it was simple to polish water simple floss will do a better job , But its your money :)

I just assumed that they would be useing a chemical impregnated pad for a specific purpose rather then add that to the system for simply filtering water . A lot of people talk alot of mess about what they think they no and often times they just waste money by listening to these people . I personally could care less who uses what to do anything . Just better ways to do the same job sometimes . Forget I said anything .

I was given a couple of pieces to try by the lfs and IMHO the are crap. I have since been using the pura-filter pads. They are cut to fit and you get a fairly big piece. One of the big bags have lasted for 6 mos and I still have half of it left. It works fairly good.
