so heres an update, sorry its been a while. I had to get rid of the yellow tang, Couldnt get along with the copper band. BUT in doing so, i had to remove 70% of the water, and breakdown all my rock work:( but we got him out, and put him into a friends tank, and he died within 24 hours of being inthere, because my friend decided to listen to the other guy that in our office who has a freshwater tank, who told him that it was a great and brilliant idea to add this meshy filter to his fluval. of corse he didnt listen to me and his pH went from 8.3 to 6.8 over night, and bye bye yellow tang. iwas pretty upset about that. anyways here is some pics.

heres the FTS with the new rock work, idk if im in love with it, but it will have to do for now.

well the carbon has only been in there for like 2 days, i have noticed the water is cleaner looking, more clear at least, people say that the carbon removes oders, and im in here with the tank most of the time that im home, so i dont notice anything, but the wife does. so we'll see how she responds to it.

Just so you know 50lbs of dry rocks are a lot of rocks. My new rocks are 30lbs (left side island).
Had kinda bad experience in the past with new rocks, diatom, brown algae, etc when I had old 29.

    Here is what I did.
Save the regular water change water in a big rubbermaid.
Put the new dry rocks (Marcorocks) in the rubbermaid along with 4 powerheads and a heater.
Dosed Microbactor7 everyday for the first 2 weeks.
After 3 weeks, made sure there was no NO3 or PO4 present, put them in the tank.

Would/could I do that same method with dead sand at the same time as the rock? And is that micro bactor7 the same thing as dr tims one and only?
