    ohhhh my bad.

so they'll rather starve themselves than to eat what i give them? is this due to stress from shipping or their personality (sp?) or improper water quality or somthing like that?

Yes they will starve themselves. I would not order one on line. Have an LFS order one for you and let them keep it for 2 weeks and don't buy it unless it is really eating well. Also you are not supposed to net them as it can damage there mouth.

Welcome to the forum. You seem to be doing fine so far for making your water. I wish I had started out large instead of 2 small tanks and then converting to a larger one anyway.

so this past monday i orderd a new power head, because the only one i had was an old maxjet 1200, and to be honest, it barley moved the flake food around in this monster 90g tank. so i desided to order the magnum 6 my hydor off of amazon.com, and get the 2nd day air (because im very impaitent when it come to hardware). wednesday came around, no pump, thursday, still no pump so i call and politly say "where the darnit is my dag-um pump?!?" they resond with "if its not there tomorrow we'll ship out a new one overnight and youll have it on saturday." but then i was reading up on the power heads off a link that Dingo gave me (thanks Dingo) that talked about how teh magnum 5 was just as powerful as the Magnum 7.

i was tired of waiting for amazon to get off their butts and get me my pump, so i went to a very unpleasent, dirty, and rude LFS and bought a Magnum 5 from them (i wouldnt dream of buying livestock from them, they had 3 blue hippos, all with ich and 1 with hole-in-the-head, sad)

BUT, i got home as excited as i could be, unboxed it and hooked this bad boy up!! the flow is insaine, not a single dead spot anymore (there were a lot of dead spots with that POS maxijet 1200) so now i have debris swirling violently through my tank, its great!

my clam did turn a little bit and open her mouth really really wide (hehe) so i think the clam likes the flow

Billie, Great progress, the tank is looking awesome, you got coraline everywhere and more flow now - all good things!

looking good! What are you lighting the tank with? And you definitely need some good flow. I've got 2 1050 power heads, and 1 1450 power head, plus whatever my return pump is putting out.

2 t5ho bulbs, and 2 250watt MH bulds 12 inches above the tank.

the magnum 5 box says its rated at 1650, but according to these smart dudes that tested them all, they say its puttin out about 2700. idk exactly which one to go off of, but eitherway, my fish seem to be a bit nervous of it, they are taking shelter in the rocks, haha im sure they'll come around.
