So I have a 72 gallon tank with 1 ocellis clown in it. It started with 2 clown fish but the surving one killed the first one. I want to add another clown fish and was wondering the best way to go about it. Would it be best to do this? Would it be best to start both clown fish together in another tank and then transfer them both back into the 72 gallon?

If you have another tank I would take the one you have out. Move the rocks around a little and add the new one. Then add the old one after a couple of days.

On top of moving the rocks around, you should also make sure that the new one you get is smaller than the one you currently have. If you leave one by itself for a while, it will eventually become a dominant female and adding a bigger one will just cause all sorts of issues.

i read somewhere that someone had put a smaller new one in a clear hamster ball. i think they had maroon clowns and the one that was already in the tank was a very large female and introduced a very small maroon clown. i just recently got two small percula's and were holding them in my 55 until their 30g tank was ready. i tried the hamster ball thing and it works lol

I am gonna get another 20 pounds of live rock so maybe I can get it all to line up. Any tips on making a fish trap to catch the fish?

I don't know about any kind of fish trap but when a net fails, i have found that a clear tupperware container does the trick. I guess something about the fish being able to see through the container, they don't know it's coming.

I find that I usually end up tearing down my tank when I go after them with a new. Maybe a container on its side with some food in it.
