    Hello all,

My LFS is having a sale on JBJ ATO's for 50.00. I have searched the forums a bit and have seen mixed reviews. What is everyones thoughts on this unit? What are some other Units that offer a good value and are very reliable? And does anyone have suggests on a decent pump for the ATO?

Thanks for the input in Advance!

Don't know much about the jbj ato. I ordered one while back and it did not work out of the box. Returned to Aquacave and ordered a Reefkeeper lite/with SL2 to control ato. More expensive but you get more for your money. Not pushing the Reefkeeper but any controller would imo be worth the money. If you don't already have one.

I have been using my Tunze Osmolator and love it. It is literally a plug-n-play ATO. Extremely accurate and reliable. Has yet to fail in any way. Well worth the $190 I paid for it.

When you get the JBJ up and running post up your likes and dislikes with it I'm looking at the possibility using one and like to hear the Pro's and con's on it.

I've used the jbj for a year and a half with no problems and I love it! One thing that bothered me for the first year was the suction cup coming off every other month, but fixed that by installing the plastic holders that come with it.

Yes, it's not as accurate as the laser leveled units, but it keeps my sump at a constant level, give or take 1/8 of an inch. I never found this to be a problem since my sump is built to operate well either way.

I also agree on the great deal. Just make sure everything is included in it. The box, the 2 float switches, the suction cups and more important than the suction cups, the plastic brackets or holders since the suction cups (as any other ones do) tend to harden with time and lose suction.

i agree the suction cups stink, and those sensor/floats are not something you want to get shifted out of place. use the brackets if you can.
