Best skimmer under $50

    +1 on the above. Find a used skimmer for a reasonable price like the remora, or don't do a skimmer until you have the $$ and hold off on some fish. You won't find any new skimmer for close to $50 that's worth while.

    I'd either do more water changes or get a quality skimmer. My LFS has a nice seaclone for 100- and a used remora for 50, so check it out.

    I would not get a cpr backpak either, not for a 55g.

    Buying a nicer used skimmer should do the trick.
