save up the extra $ and get a SpectraPure unit, I love my 90gpd from them.

Actually, they are currently selling a limited supply of refurbished 90gpd models for $120, I'm sure they will stand by them 100%, I think just are cosmetically flawed. Great price, I would jump on that for your budget: Untitled Document

If you had any wonders about why SpectraPure makes the best units just ask AZ.

Spectrapure is the only manufacturer or vendor in the industry that treats and tests their RO membranes, uses 0.5 absolute rated prefilters rather than cheaper less efficient nominal rated filters and custom blends every ounce of their DI resins fresh in house specifically for the reef hobbyist. You will not find any better unit no matter what the cost and the long term cost of ownership due the superior performance is the lowest you will find, making the initial investment a moot point. Most reefers see a return on their investment within a year or two on DI savings and extended membrane life.

PurewaterClub is nowhere near the same quality as the others mentioned. For one they use dinky little horizontal tubes with some resin bobbing around in them and call them DI stages, for another the filter quality is mediocre at best.
With RO/DI you get what you pay for and cheap is not where you want to be.
Look for low micron prefilters and carbon blocks, absolute rated is better than nominal rated and neither should ever be over 1 micron in size.
Look for name brand RO membranes, most quality systems including Spectrapure use Dow Filmtec 75 GPD membranes as their starting point. If they don't tell you the brand and model look elsewhere, no secrets no surprises.
Look for full size vertical refillable DI canisters and cartridges, not horizontal holow tubes.
Look for things like an inline pressure gauge and a TDS meter.
Capillary tube flow restrictors are the best you can get, most use non adjustable fixed orfice type while the capillary tube is only $5.
Look for a company with a track record and history besides ebay. A physical address or brick and mortar building means they are probably here to stay. Some like Spectrapure and AWI have been in business over 25 years doing nothing but water treatment, that should tell you something.

I have one from bulk reef supply and really like it. How do you think they compare to spectrapure?

Spectrapure is a 3Reef sponsor and has been for some time.

Bulk Reef does not treat or test their RO membranes, they use too coarse of a prefilter and its not absolute rated, they do not custom blend their own DI resins based on thousands of hours of testing nor do they use capillary tube flow restrictors. You be the judge.

Try to find another reef quality RO/DI for $120 which includes all the above.

Add a TDS meter for another $25 in the same flyer and you have a dynamite system
