I have the gyre, 2 mp40's and 1 mp10. I used to have jeabo power heads too. Gyre is the best bet by far for the $$. 5000gph with controller for $300 bucks. Comes with extra parts, you can run vertically or horizontal, you can change the water output direction, can run in reverse to create alternating gyre.

Just fyi I am in progress of upgrading to a 120, but have been running all the pumps in my 65 since I love flow. The gyre is crazy strong. I was running the 2mp40s and mp10 all at 60%, I can't run the gyre past 30% by itself. Now just to make use of the pumps I run the mp40s on the sides and gyre alternating on the back wall at 20% forward and 30% reverse. In the 65 the mp40s work better because the gyre is so strong.

Didn't you say best bang for the buck?

I've never tried many of them, but IMHO- the Jabeo RW series,
or a WP with the 'Todd Mod'

I treated myself to a pair of Jebao RW-8's for a late Bday gift to myself!! They just came in my LFS yesterday and picking them up today at noon.

I've had almost every powered available. Minus the new gyre.
Vortechs have great flow but for me the price I paid wasn't worth the sound they made. The ramping up and down was very annoying for me.

The wp series is a great pump. Had 2 wp60s on a 7ft 210g and it could rock a 3" standing wave if I wanted.

I will be running 2 wp40s on a upcoming build.

The OP title did say best / price?

While you might like other PH's, the Jabeo series is a no brainer win here.

    I use 2 x WP40's with the 'Todd Mod', and a DC12000 with a 10ft head for my RP.

Thanks forum for all your feed back we are seriously weighing all the pros and cons of both the EcoTech MP series and Gyre . I really like what I see in the gyre PH however I have read there are issues with the units so im cautiously reading on threads on the net before making any sort of decision.

Keep the feedback coming and thanks to all in advance.....

I personally like the vortechs mainly because of the control over the Internet with the reef link also because electrical components are outside the tank. I have very brief experience with the gyre generator. For my own tank I would put my money on the gyre generator but on the flip side, if one of my clients is willing to spend the money, I would recommend and put a Vortech in his tank. Me, because I'm on a budget, solely coming down to price, I'm putting jebao pumps in my new build. However, if I had a larger budget, vortechs all the way and maxspect second solely because it's a new product and may have issues in the future.
