Foxface, Tangs, Lawnmower Blenny, Urchins, theres a few other invert's that will destroy hair algae in days.

Mollies will also breed in saltwater, so the fry would make a tasty snack for the other fish. a yellow tang would work too.

Oh, I didn't mean that a yellow tang wouldn't work. I meant that nearly ANY sailfin (Zebrasoma genus) tang, and a whole lot of other tangs, would work too. Lots of the Ctenochaetus tangs would work, as would a few of the Acanthurus and Naso tangs. The foxface should be a good choice too.

Mollies naturally live in brackish water estuaries. These areas are VERY prone to huge, sudden swings in salinity, so they're naturally built for it. Some people have just thrown mollies from petco (fully-FW tanks) into reef-level salty tanks and they've been perfectly fine.

The mollies I have in my tank pick at the rocks and sift the sand all day long. They prefer algae over anything else.

I'm thinking of cycling my tank with mollies. So did you just get them as a clean-up crew?

Do you have other fish in with the Mollies? Just curious, as I have an algae problem, but also have a small Blue Tang (maybe 3"), a Royal Gramma, and 2 O. Clowns.

i recently had GHA outbreak due to a PO4 issue. my emerald crab ate most of it, my turbo snail was eating it, and i picked up a fuzzy chiton the other day and its been in it but no noticeable removal.

replaced my RO cartridges and fixed my PO4 issue. was basically feeding algae daily....
