What would be the best clean up crew member for keeping the sand clean?

Unless the tank is huge and is very mature, a sandsifter will slowly starve to death.

A sleeper goby will clean it in just a couple hours. Not really a CuC member though.

Just so you understand.... Nasarius snails are meat eaters, they don't clean the sand bed. What they do is bury themselves so they stir up the bed..... but they don't really clean it. They do eat whet ever hits it at feeding time.

You should get either Golden headed sleeper gobies or Diamond gobies. Those will do their job well.
