regular IO. It's easy to find, cheap, and like majority on your list needs additional supplement anyway. I find it cheaper to self supplement than to buy a more expensive salt that just needs less supplementation.

but I also keep my numbers high.

hmm...the supplementation thing was what I had in mind. I didn't really want to have to supplement to keep my levels.

    IME, too bad. ;)

Unless you're OK with low numbers and constant WC's.

If you have to supplement anyway, I can't justify a more expensive salt when supplements are soooo cheap.

Well actually i guess it wouldn't be so bad. I was thinking along the lines of an auto doser which would have a cost. lol(compared to supplements)

I auto dose the supplements I get from BRS. Since I started dosing (and my nitrates/phosphates have remained 0) I have basically stopped doing WC... Very very rare now.

Good to know. I am going to look into an auto-dosser, not sure how much it costs. But wouldn't I have to but supplements in the liquid form then?

True. With the proper equipment, WCs could actually be completely eliminated. And with that, dosing becomes necessary, so any salt mix will work. However, as my sig implies, I prefer the "all natural" system, which, of course, demands constant WCs. But at 10% weekly, $25 buys a 15-month supply of salt, and with Crystal Sea, I don't need to suppliment anything. :D

Seano~ My apologies if I offended you or anyone else in this thread. I was simply expressing my frustration with "About". I've followed them for a few years, now- lots of misinformation, IMHO. But then again, Stan and Deb are LFS owner/operators.

    Cheers

No offense taken. You were simply answering my question & saying your opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own. I thank you for that.

    Cool. 8)

I suppose "all natural" is a bit of a misnomer; One will never completely mimic the ocean in a glass box of any size. But it's a term used when one views their mini-ecosystem as a food chain and sets it up accordingly, allowing the flora and fauna found in live sand and live rock to do the filtering, as opposed to using a lot of expensive equipment, to which some refer as "life support". ;)
