Im starting to feel like my two koralia 2 and my one one koralia 1, plus the MJ1200 on my skimmer wont be enough flow. i think im going to order another K1 and maybe a couple K nano's to put at the top of the tank to agitate the water a bit.

i got 2x 800 gph and 1 400 gph. the koralia 1's will not really create adequate flow in a 55, esp when you get more rockwork. i got a good amount of flow with my powerheads.

So let me hijack and ask the same question for my 55 gal.

My return pump is a Odyssea WP-1000, 1000GPH pump.

I also ordered a JBJ OCEAN PULSE - QUADRA WAVEMAKER as a simple wave maker and four Koralia 1's for in the tank.

    Rough numbers equals 1000GPH + 400x4 = 2600 GPH. 55 gal DT plus 40 gal Sump/refugium with 75 lbs LR. I estimate 65 gals of water. Thus, 2600/65 = 40 turn over.

Now, I doubt that I am getting 1000GPH at a 4 ft head out of the return pump, but I should be in the ball park right??

Planning on mostly corals and 6-8 fish. Haven't learned enough to totally plan out the live stock yet. Starting with "simple" corals to learn.

    Feedback appreciated.

BTW, the return pump goes into a PVC lattice along the backwall flowing into the LR stacked against it. I was thinking of putting the 4 Koralias along the side walls towards the front of the tank, 1 high and 1 low on each side and having them point in opposite corners.

    Thoughts on placement and direction?

I have 2 K2's as well, plus the return from the cpr, return from the sump (slow flow) and return from the fluval. I have so much rock I dont know where to put it. I'm still think about adding a k1 or a k nano to put on the bottom to flow across the back of the rock work. My Koralias are also on a ocean pulse wavemaker and switch ever 30 seconds during the day, off when feeding and every 6 min at night.
