by now i seriously believe that my 55g is some sort of Bermuda triangle or a black hole. my two emerald crabs are MIA for few weeks now, and i didn't see my royal gramma for several days. i didn't see any signs of stress in her behavior and i couldn't find any bodies either.

Look for the crabs at night if you haven't already. Sometimes they'll hide for days after molting.
As for the gramma, it's possible it is hiding well and living off of pods and bits of food that drift into the rocks but if it has passed a well stocked CUC would clean it up to nothing in less than a few hours.
Hope your friends show up though!

I have gone months in my 180 without seeing my gramma and then he will make an appearance. Emeralds are tough to see when they are smack in front of you ! I agree with RM, look tonight and see what there is to be seen.
