Awesome. Your build is coming together.

So perhaps this is not the right place... but I took a look at the Blue Demons.... can anyone explain to me the purpose of the upper "bubble plate"? Don't know what it is called, but why is there a grate for the foam head to get through?

Id get a Blu Demon Leighton. I'm sure steve can hook you up. Plus it'll cost less.

Well put, price and hype doesn't make a product better with skimmers its all about dwell time not the amount of water it passes. i use a large jebo on my system, set properly it has to be dumped every 3 days it makes so much dark skim-mate. :LolLolLol i could set up 3 tanks for what some like to spend on just there lights. after 30 plus years in this hobby i have seen fads and hype come and go many times.

    Leighton,

Glad you made the Bashsea plunge..!
Steve and I talked tonight about your Bio-Fuge and skimmer and have the build in progress. Those who know and have dealt with Steve, know he is focused on quality products and hands down best customer service and we feel honored to work with him on a daily basis..!

You made a very smart decision, and Steve and I will make sure you are very well taken care of!

    Any update?

This is a very informative thread! Great read. I was just curious as to how the system turned out and how you are liking it.

Im actually still putting it together but i can say everything is top quality from bashsea and from reefwerks where i purchased them. The skimmer is massive and the bio-fuge is was custom built excatly how i asked. cant say enough good things about both companies.

Oh that's awesome to hear! I'm a fan of quality products. I sent my plans to Bashsea for a custom sump/fuge. I have a 54 corner tank and not much room to work with underneath the cabinet, But I'm going to fit it all in there! ;D
