About 12 to 14 weeks if you seed for it and keep your parameters up to par.

    do you mean live rock?
base rock is all dried out and is normally just white. it doesnt need to be cured. just a good soak will do the trick.
put it in a bucket and let it soak for an hour or so especially if its dirty. then plop it in the tank.

So base rock is cured already, all it needs is a good soaking and then put it in your main tanks?

    1) Then get a piece of coral that has purple agle, to seed the base rock?
    2) If the base rock is cure already (in a perfectly world)and you have SP in your tank, they will start to move over to the base rock, with out the purple agle being there?

"CURED" LR is a term used that means it has been through it's cycle and has bacteria living on the rock.

Base rock is just like it sounds, base! No living bacteria but it will become alive when it cycles in a tank for a number of weeks.

To seed for coralline you need a piece of rock with coralline on it already and then you need to shut all your pumps off. Take the rock and break the coralline off in chunks and allow it to settle all over your base rock (I used a pair of pliers). Do this until you run out of coralline on the rock you or you have covered the hole tank. Now leave the pumps off for a couple hours to let the spores settle on the rock and then turn the pumps back on.
This will help seed for coralline but you have to keep Mg at 1400, Ca at 450, and dKH at 10 to 14 and the stuff will spread like crazy. Once it starts to attach to rock and plastic or glass in the tank then that is a sign of a good system.

Florida is the best, Fiji and others are either average to above average, and rocks thrown in a vat at "Al's Discount Fish Stuff" are the worst :p

ALL base rock is the best rock IMO. Live rock is a waste of time and money.

Boy you can say that again. I would rather save hundreds of $$$ and seed the stuff myself. At least then I know where it has been.
