They need a big tank. IMO I wouldnt put one in anything less than 300 gallons

I kept one in a 250g for around 4yrs before it got so big it couldn't turn around in the tank, you have to have a tank wider than the shark is long, also plan on having a massive fuge and sump, I had a 40g sump with LR and chaeto in it along with a DSB and a massive skimmer to handle the bio-load
Reason being the shark can and will injure itself on the rocks their free swimmers and like to chill on a nice sand bed

IMO 300+ gallon or dont do it at all, plus their really not that easy to keep they are proned to getting alot of different sicknesses and very high maintence

ok jokes aside i would only recommend a stock tub for a shark, or a custom made tank. very shallow but very long and wide. aside from that i dont think these fish belong in a home. i was never a fan of packing a fish in a tank that they cant swim in even if the bioload handles it.

i see so then ill probably go with my second option which is a fimbriated eel (3rd eel in tank) but my baby snowflake might die so i might have to a add a zebra eel to idk why i love eels

in a 55 it wouldnt be able to even turn around it gets over 3 feet.

a 110 may give it some more space but really not enough IMO the fish would be able to swim a foot then hit the glass and turn around.

fish swim(with a few exceptions), its what they do naturally. if you take away there ability to swim and your not really appreciating there true beauty

you've gotta go by the width of the aquarium for any fish, a 55g wouldnt even support a banded cat shark at 3 months old, an eel however should do fine in a tank over 75g
