black spots are probably sting marks from a nem or corals...did he possibly jump or maybe is he hiding in a rock?

OK, the snails don't look like collonistas to me. Too bumpy & dark and a couple of them look too flat. For a better ID, you'll need to flip them over and get a clear pic of the other side. The first pic in your 01-04-2012, 11:03 PM post has the shape of a sundial snail, but a pic of the other side is needed and it doesn't look like is has the checkerboard pattern. Maybe PM Pagojoe & see if he can ID, he's the snail expert here. This is a collonista.

As for the tube, it could be a type of tube worm (which covers a lot), or a Chaetopterid or Spionid. There's a huge variety of worms that fall under the polychaete name, bristleworms and a lot of tubeworms (including featherdusters) fall under polychaete, but bristleworms don't build tubes. Spionid worms have 2 tentacles. There's a worm that has one, but I can't remember what it's called right now.

Here's a really good link to look at when you find things: Live Rock Hitch Hikers

Under the fin that runs along the top of the fish. And along the bottom of the fish! The snails have been identified. Not worried about the snails
