Bad luck with new tank...need more help!

    First Microbubbles.......now.................

    I bought an SMR1 bio pellet reactor and mag drive 3 pump....

    Hooked up pump external and it is super loud, real loud and not pumping water!!!:confused:

    Spent a pretty penny on set up! please help, dont want to ruin $80 pump!!

    You need the water to be in the pump already for it to work. It will not pull water up out of a sump. Drain needs to be below water or pump in the sump. Not the equipment's fault that you didn't read directions.

    That pump has to be run under water. It is not meant to be ran in the way you have it set up. It will not prime like that, and ultimately will destroy the pump.

    How do I get water in?? Dunk it first??

    Can I not run this pump externally??

    You need a hole in the side of your sump that is below the water level going to this pump.

    ooopppppsss! swore it says on box internal or external??? Will those steel screws on pump damage my tank???

    It can be used as internally or externally. However, the pump will not prime itself. You need to have a hole in ur sump w/ a bulkhead. Then have the plumbing going to the pump. With the pump at the same level as or below the hole in the sump.
