I'm sorry you feel the need to attack me. I stated my opinion, which someone asked for on this thread.

both the coral beauty and brown tang are not very hearty compared to the clowns and dottyback

It doesn't rise more solely by adding water.

What happens to ammonia in a low pH environment (like the one in a shipping bag filled with CO2) is that it changes form into a less potent ion called ammonium. When you open the bag, you let in air, and the pH suddenly rises - along with the proportion of ammonia to ammonium, which makes the bag water much more deadly.

The float and go method works best for me, any livestock fish wise I have ever dripped acclimated failed to live. So naturally I float and go as I put it, and let me tell you my Achilles Tang and Moorish Idol are quite fantastically happy :)

oh by the way i have a friend in FL who shipped me 2 dottybacks who got lost in the postal service ( motto never use over night USPS if it has to be there overnight) they were in the bag for 3 days!. guess what ! they survived i opened the box worried of what i would find, and they were still. i though darn they are dead. well than i seen the one in the one bag move. they were alive! i acclimated them as i normally do. at the time i was using the cup of water from my tank than another cup way of acclimating

i really believe they went dormant. like goldfish do in the winter in your pond. i cant say for sure im no expert im still learning as i go.

What happened to you was mere luck. And the fact that they were dottybacks, they ship better than most fish.
Wrasses are really bad shippers, they get stressed really easily, sometimes they arrive dead in 1 day shipping.

Wrasses, tangs, angels, and a few others are very fragile shippers. Dottybacks, clowns, damsels and a few others are quite amazing shippers. For the fact water quality and stress usually aren't huge factors for those fish.

everyone has their own way in this hobby.....even the online vendors have suggested acclimation processes that are worlds apart. just another one of the many challenges of this hobby.

Yes, but the shippers also have different methods. Some will pack early, and have their stuff out long before the "last call" shipments you see from others who have it listed as "Shipped 7:58 from Kinkos", and some will have morning delivery overnight, while others will just do regular overnight. That affects whether to temp-and-dump or do a full acclimation.
