    I would say your ALk is high, but that is because mine is always around 2.2. ;D

    Damn. I thought nsw was between 5 to 7 and normal alk for freshly made saltwater is between 8 - 12

    I honestly have no idea. I was just going off of my color code card for my Red Sea Test Kit is all. It says normal 1.7 - 2.8 lol. Who says they are right. I need to research it I guess lol. ;D

    Forgot there are different ways of measuring alkalinity. My measurement is in dKH like stated above. Yours should be a measurement in meq/L. It's also measured in ppm. Idk how the scale works on your kit, but I'm sure the kit will tell you what's the normal range.

    Awesome point, mine measures in meq/L lol. So I guess my readings would be normal lol. ;D

    2.2 meq/L = 6.16 dkh = 110 ppm

    I have been fighting something like this for probably 2 and a half months. Nothing I did would cure it. It JUST now cleared itself in the last week and a half or so. I finally just ignored the tank for a month and it gradually went away. Cut feeding back and quit w/c and changing carbon. I think it was a bacteria bloom but still don't know what caused it nor how it went away.
