Okay, my clown died today. Firefish just magically dissapeared, and yellow watchman died in the filter area. And currently only fish survivor is just 1 more nemo. I still have corals, and shrimp, healthy and alive.

I really dont want to deal with fish jumping behind the filter. So here is my idea of fish I kinda want. N

    1. NO Jumping Fish
    2. None aggresive Fish
    3. Reef Safe Fish
    4. Fish that fits in 29 gallon, and dont have to worry about adult hood.
    5. Community Fish.

I kinda want chromis, but they are a school fish.. what will happen if i get 1 or 2? How many chromis do i need for a school effect?

I would think you could get away with three chromis for the schooling effect. Odd numbers is good. Sorry for your losses. I'd suggest a clown goby, green or the citrus, because they are cool to watch just sitting on rock, not taking up a lot of swimming area. I believe that any fish will jump. Is there any mod you can do to the tank, like putting plastic gutter guard pieces somewhere to block jumpers? I have an odd opening area on my covered QT and I managed to place some gutter guard in there and my very active Midas Blenny has been blocked in the QT for four weeks now. Just an idea.

These are going in the 29 gal.so the chromis won't school. They may zoom around together but not really school due to the shape of the tank. They are still a great choice but it is their custom to get down to an odd number, so you may want 4 to end up with 3. Royal Gamma, to me is very hearty and beautiful and a good addition. that would be about all in that size tank along with the clown fish.

what do you mean 4 to end up with 3?
And what will happen if i get 1 chromis?

And I was also wondering, can i put in those black and white stripped clown? My only 1 fish survivor is small false percula clown fish.

From many of our experiences, the Green Chromis like to end up with an odd number in the group. I started with 4 and they killed 1 to make it 3, I then added 2 more and everything was fine. When 1 of that group died for whatever reason and there were 4 left within a day or so they knocked off 1 to go to 3 and those 3 are still in there (almost a year now). No one knows why this happens and some have reported they have an even number and theirs are fine. Anyway, you could put 1 but they fair better in groups because they are so small. I am not sure what type of clown you mean. Do you have a name? Clowns a lot of times fight relentlessly and add stress to the tank. Get a name and I/we can tell you if it may be compatible with the percula.

I started with 3. 1 died and I was left with 2. Replaced it and another one died. I've had 2 for almost 2 years now. One is much bigger than the other and they get along fine. I wouldn't say they school though.

That is the one I figured you meant. From the first site you gave; "
The Black and White Ocellaris Clown fish is a good candidate for a reef aquarium. If introduced to the aquarium at the same time, many varieties of tank raised clowns can be maintained together in the aquarium."

This is the concern. The other clown is well established and may not take to the other one. I tried many times to keep two and the constant (meaning every day, off and on) bickering led to ick and at least one died. Just a warning.
