    Must of come in with the water from my last purchase 4 months ago. I did add some rock that has been out of the water for 8 months.

    What did you order 4 months ago? Fish? Coral? They often come in on coral frags. Also, not sure if you started with live rock or not, but you'll still be finding "new" hitchikers for years if you did.

    are asterina starfish bad? I was in my LFS once and they pulled theres out and told me that they weren't really good for your tank

    IME there not harmful to the tank, good scavengers and eat algae. Many people say that they eat corals... I have not seen this true. I also think there is some kind of starfish out there that does eat corals and thats maybe why people think this of what you have.

    I have never had any asterina star fish.. how do they come about?

    I have a ton of these in one of my reeftanks. Not sure where they came from. They are seriously all over the glass all the time.

    Glad to hear they aren't bad for the tank.

    lol yea they are cool to look at I have about 400 in my tank (or it seems like) they will climb everything in the tank even catch rides on the shells my crabs.
