    The float switch is located in the DT :) the flow affects it not at all. Of course it's not in direct flow either. [​IMG] I only have the top off going into the fuge.

    Good info everyone, much appreciated!

    Another question.

    Anyone heat and circulate they're top-off water?

    The room my tank is in can have ambients as low as 55F during winter months. I'm sure this isn't the situation for many others. I temp match my saltwater when I perform WC's so I'm assuming it would be crucial to do the same for the top-off water.

    I don't heat or circulate it. It's a pretty small addition, so it should be ok compared to the overall volume of the system. I've been thinking of adding circulation to mine... but only because I add kalk via my ATO.

    BTW. you'd have to make some sort of float holders/snail gaurds... but a Reef Angel (which includes floats and the capability) isn't that more expensive than a (new) JBJ ATO. :p
