When using automatic top-off, do you use straight up fresh RODI? Or premix to a certain salinity level?

How do you keep salinity level exactly where it needs to be?

    Thanks.

Top off is just ro/di as the salt doesn't evaporate

To elaborate ... as the waster in your tank evaporates, it leaves the salt behind, which raises your salinity (same amount of salt in less water). You top off with RO/DI water to match the evaporation rate ... thereby keeping your salinity stable.

The ATO topping off will keep the salinity stable by replacing evaporation. However the salinity may drop slowly over time due water being removed by the skimmer, testing samples or sucking out detritus. When that happens I top off with a little salt water manually to maintain salinity.

I am gonna get Hydor 200 (70gph) pump and JBJ Auto Top-Off controller.

What is a good way to secure 1/2" tubing to the aquarium and the top-off reservoir? Are there some kind of convinient clips for sale? Can't seem to find anything.

    Thanks.
