it looks like hair algae, and some cyano is beginning to show. use phosban in a media reactor or canister filter, or setup a refugium.

If thats hair algae, is mine considered hair algae. My camera is broke so you'll just have to deal with my description.
Its a really dark green, and thick. It is about 2-3 inches long in some spots and shorter in others. It moves from the flow much like hair would in the wind.
(I feel like I'm making a riddle up). I spy with my little eye something that is...
Anyways, what he has pictured up there doesnt look anything like mine except for the color.

Its hair algae with some cyano. There is a multitude of causes. Main ones are phosphates, nitrates, excessive lighting, and not enough flow. You may have to address all of those issues. What kind of water are you using? What are your phosphate and nitrate levels? What is your total flow rate? How long are you running the lights and how old are the bulbs? Is there any sunlight that can get to the tank?

ok the light bulbs are brand new, the tank lights are on a long time. i turn them off right when i wake up (6:45 am) and right before i go to bed(10:00-10:30 pm). i know thats a problem haha. next issue, i buy premade salt water called Real Ocean and havent been doing water changes lately but are definately going to get back in the habit starting today. im going to buy some now. then, yes there is a little sunlight shining in but not a lot at all. its about 10 ft away from the window with objects between them and the sun usually is not shining right in (the sun is not visible from the window looking out).

    please get back to me
