Sorry JJL. That sounds pretty bad. Battery pump is all I can say. Maybe invest in a generator in case this happens again, but hopefully it won't.

Oh man, that sucks. Is there any way you can pick up an inverter to run a few things off your car battery? You could try Radio shack, Target, Wall-Mart, Target, Sears etc... probably a number of other places. You could also move your tank temporarily to a relatives house or something. Of course, this is only worthwhile if the power is out for a long time.

I hooked up an inverter to a car battery not to hard. Center on the cigarette lighter is positive the outside is negative. I don't know how long it will last though as I didn't use it for long. If your pulling it out of a car to use try and get the newest battery as it should be cleaner and be alright to drain completely.

Not sure I should be putting this on blast at this time, but I work for the power company in the New England area and like many others after not experiencing much related to the storm on Sunday, my first thought was it was all just hype....but then I saw the number of outages, especially in the CT area, it broke the standing record from back in the 1930's. Even though over 500k customers were restored, we still have over 400k customers out of power. I spent most of my spare time over the last week looking for a generator....that will never happen again, I ordered one as soon as they were available. Hopefully I get it before the next storm, just not worth the worries. If you're in this for the long hall, invest in a generator.

Glad you got power back. What did you have in the tank for water movement just a battery operated power head? I finally got everything back to normal yesterday then woke up this morning to water on the floor because my sump cracked...one after another. Hope everything comes back for ya in the coming days.

Sorry to hear about your power woes. If we need to hold your order until next week to make sure things are stable in the tank just let me know. I obviously don't want to hold it for ever, LOL!...but I don't want you to put corals that are already stressed from shipping into a tank that is unstable and may do them more harm...keep me posted...we don't ship until later in the day so we have about 24hours to see how things are doing.
