ASAP.. another clown fish issue.

Is there anything visible on his mouth?

 

well he is hanging at the top of the tank... which made me think ammonia, but my tests read .25 or 0. most of the time. ( this is a QT tank BTW.)

 

nop, other than the fact he doesnt close it.

 

0.25 for a clown doesn't seem too bad as they are hardy, but hanging at the top and inflamed gills are symptoms of ammonia poisoning. Also, gill parasites can cause inflamed gills. Sorry I can't be of much help!! Hopefully someone who knows more will answer and I hope you get it figured out. Good luck!

 

i dont think its ammonia, i mean i have 3 other fish in there and the other 2 seem perfectly normal.think my test kit might be wrong?

 

I would think that if the other fish are fine it probably isn't ammonia, because clownfish are hardy...google gill parasite symptoms and see if any of those symptoms fit.
