im pretty sure they wont pick at your corals might bother them when moving around and such, might catch small enough fish and attack other inverts, what size tank do you have? and what is in it currently???

Brrrrr....can get big and aggressive towards fish and corals.

    Opportunistic eater.

    "Reef Safe" is really questionable.

Will eat worms, but better options out there.

Had one once. Did not take long for me to pull it out...:-/

my LFS store let my mother borrow an arrow crab to eat some bristleworms. Within 1 week I was in the tank trying to get it out, royal pain. This guy was good, he ate the prepared food that mom placed in tank, however he also ate a cleaner shrimp and a yashia white ray shrimp goby named Fred! He actually grab the shrimp right in front of us. Fred, he brought out of his cave and showed us "his prize" I honestly thought my parents were going to smash that crab with their shoes when I did get it out.....Fred was a fish you never saw, but they absolutely loved him when he did come out to play!

Arrow crabs I was told will use their spear on the top of their body and spear small fish or other unsuspecting prey that it can get a hold of. And this crab like I said was one that also ate mysis shrimp...so he was not being starved by any means.

I would trade it in. I was looking at one too. Then I read about them. It kind of bummed me out because it would make an awesome looking addition......if only it's temperment were a little more mellow.......

Well Poo.....I wish I would have seen this thread before I bought one today! From what I read they were pretty easy going......What am I gonna do now? I wonder if my LFS would take him back? I don't see him eating any worms so far!

From what I was told, is that they do not really spear until they get bigger. So you will be alright to have him for a little while, as long as he is eating.

I agree with Omard and Schackmel, not good for a reef set up. They can become very aggressive towards any tankmate, esp. if their hungry. Luna
